Our 2015 cross mentoring challenge where we pair combat wounded and injured veterans with SCUBAnauts and give them a mission to accomplish.
The first mission is to restore damaged coral reef under the guidance of MOTE Marine Laboratories. The second mission pairs one SCUBAnaut and one veteran in an underwater navigation course. Each pair must work efficiently together to accomplish their mission before any other team.
Traversing a glacier is no small feat. Our team pushes themselves to accomplish the mission even though the river might be higher than expected, or the pain gets pretty bad. They all pushed through and made a difference for themselves and others.
17 CWVC Challenge Warriors set sail on a 10 day voyage in May crewing a 75 foot ketch from Key West to the Dry Tortugas, conducting data collection with St. Pete College and testing their endurance on the high seas. This great video was shot, edited and directed by our CWVC vet crew – Roland Vaughan and Billy Costello, with a special thanks to Graham Sheldon. Wayward immerses you on the boat, in the action. Check it out…and we dare you not to share this!
